Pakistan's security forces are being heavily criticised after troops were caught on camera apparently shooting a man dead at point-blank range earlier this week. The incident occurred at the Benazir Bhutto Park in the early evening.
The footage, captured by a cameraman from Pakistan’s Awaz television channel, shows a youth identified as Sarfaraz Shah arguing with parliamentary rangers in Karachi. The young man is allegedly accused of armed robbery.
The 18-year-old is manhandled and captured unarmed by the Rangers. He was seen pleading for his life while surrounded by a group of Rangers personnel who fired shots at him in full public view. Sarfaraz Shah was left bleeding to death.
